Considering Little Light for your student?

What grades are offered at Little Light?

Pre K (age 4 by September 1) through Middle School.

How big are the classes?

Most of our classes have less than 10 students.

What is the teaching philosophy of Little Light?

We believe in delight and discovery learning, as well as individual instruction. We keep classes small, and engagement high. Students in all grade levels have access to technology for learning at their own pace.

What Curriculum does Little Light use?

We use a combination of curricula to achieve results.
In general we use The Writing Road to Reading for Language Arts and a variety of different curricula for math.
We write many of our own Bible lessons.
Some of our curriculum is tailored to each student.
We also teach by unit studies, field trips, and delight directed learning, as well as service projects.

Who is eligible for enrollment?

Little Light serves children that have a parent who has been or is now in jail or prison.

How much does it cost?

Little Light is totally tuition-free.

How do I enroll my child?

The first step of enrollment is filling out a prospective student form. If your student meets the initial criteria and we feel he or she might be a fit for our school, you will be contacted for an interview. After the interviews students are placed on our waiting list for the next available spots. Little Light is totally tuition-free.

Are fine arts offered at Little Light?

All students receive Music lessons and Choir, Art classes, and Maker’s Studio time.
